Dear Staff, Parents, Guardians, and Families,
We are writing to share an important safety update following today’s precautionary soft lockdown regarding a social media threat made on TikTok.
Investigation Update & Suspect Identification The Sleepy Eye Police Department conducted a swift and thorough investigation today and has successfully identified a suspect responsible for the terroristic threat.
Return to Normal Operations After direct consultation with local law enforcement, both Sleepy Eye Public Schools and St. Mary’s Catholic School will return to normal operations tomorrow.
- Lockdown Lifted: The soft lockdown status is completely lifted.
- Schedules & Activities: All classes, entry procedures, transportation, and extracurricular activities will run on their standard schedules tomorrow.
We want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Sleepy Eye Police Department for their rapid response, as well as to our dedicated staff, students, and families for your patience, cooperation, and support throughout the day. The safety of our school community remains our top priority.
