Sleepy Eye High School Summer 2020 Speed and Strength workouts Phase 1

If your son or daughter in grades seven through twelve is interested in athletic speed and agility training at Sleepy Eye High School a free opportunity starts with morning sessions Monday June 8th. These training sessions although not mandatory are highly recommended by the Sleepy Eye Athletic department and coaching staff. If you have questions please contact cory.haala@sleepyeye.mntm.org

 

Sleepy Eye High School Summer 2020 Speed and Strength workouts Phase 1

  • The focus of these workouts are to get student athletes acclimated to being active again, these are not sport specific workouts
  • Workouts will be in progression in order to reduce injuries, simple to more complex
  • Workouts will include: Dynamic warmup, agility, speed, jumping, core and body weight exercises
  • Monday- Friday morning sessions: 7:15-7:45 AM or 7:45-8:15 AM (6:30-7:15 AM time by request)
  • Athletes will take part currently in (1) 30 minute session per day, total amount of days per week will be determined per group based on amount of students signed up
  • More specific details will be given after students are grouped in Pods of 9 based age and gender. We will use recommendations from the CDC, MDH, MDE, MSHSL and NFHS, WE WILL BE USING ALL RECOMMENDED SOCIAL DISTANCE GUIDELINES!
  • We will be outside using the Football field area and Track, Start date of  Monday morning June 8th
  • It is our hope that additional workouts in the weight room will be added as regulations decrease, if this occurs workouts that include Speed and Strength and Weight room will last more than 30 minutes beginning June 15th or at a later date, weight room is yet TBD
  • Groups (Pods) of 9 or less from day to day will remain consistent and necessary
  • This opportunity  is not mandatory but highly encouraged for all student athletes, NO COST and available to grades 7-12
  • You must make a request to attend no later than 12:00 Sunday June 7th you cannot simply show up!
