Sleepy Eye Public School Distance Learning Plan Message

Dear Parents,

Sleepy Eye Public School’s staff has worked diligently the past week to put together a comprehensive distant learning plan.  This plan will be ready to implement if the Governor decides that instruction will be in this format for a period of time or possibly for the rest of the school year.

I am proud of the entire staff that spent numerous hours to make sure that we developed the best possible solution. I want to thank my Cabinet members for their leadership in this process. Samantha Schmit and Kevin Schneider for leading the K-6 and 7-12 teams, Tyler Krehbiel for all the technology related support, Sarah Rossing for the SPED component, Pat Stevermer for Early Childhood program planning, Abby Grove for the food service plan and Sarah Eckstein for her social emotional plan leadership.  A special thank you also goes out to Alyssa Stevensen who managed our document formatting.

The plan is posted on the district website, so that you can easily access it. We understand that this plan cannot replace having direct student teacher contact on a daily basis but we are hoping that we can provide an effective instruction for your children while we all go through these unprecedented times.  Our staff has embraced this unique challenge, and they are looking forward to working with you and your child. We are all in this together!!
